‘For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people’ Isaiah 56:7
Across the world God’s people are responding to a move of the Spirit of God establishing houses of prayer for the fulfillment of God’s promises on the earth. “On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent.” (Is 62:7) As in the days of the Davidic tabernacle, 24/7 houses of prayer minister day and night in intercession and worship, declaration of God’s Word, and fasting, to open the heavens above as God’s people seek His face.
It has long been our desire to see such a house of prayer established in Loudoun County in cooperation with every local church that embraces a heart for worship, intercession, and a unity for the Body of Christ based on the Word of God. It is our hope that each church will cover one evening corporate session each quarter, and would require 90 churches/ ministries to serve in this corporate work. Morning, noon, and the night sessions would be led by those called to this ministry.
“The life of the church is the highest life, and its office is to pray. Its prayer life is the highest life, the most fragrant, the most conspicuous. When God’s house on the earth is a house of prayer, then God’s house in heaven is busy and powerful in its plans and movements. ‘For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people’ (Isaiah 56:7), says God. Then, His earthly armies are clothed with the triumphs and spoils of victory, and His enemies are defeated on every hand… The very life and prosperity of God’s cause - even its very existence - depend on prayer. And the advance and triumph of His cause depend on one thing: that we ask of Him.” E. M. Bounds
