This is actually about the heart of God… for the people of Loudoun County.

While it is true that there have been leaders who have shepherded this effort, it is only because of the love of God and His desire to restore every life, every marriage, every family, and every institution in our county to reflect His glory!

Community Prayer Watch is a cooperative effort of churches and ministries within Loudoun County, partnering in prayer and fasting for the transformation of every aspect of our county. We believe that God is no respecter of persons, and if we do our part, our covenant God will do his part.

“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14
.

Around the world reports of outbreaks of revival are escalating. Just five years ago there were about 8 locations, now there are reports in 500 locations! Some locations, such as Amalango, Guatemala, have seen even the land and agriculture radically changed by transformation. (See Transformations I at www.sentinelgroup.org )  Other areas have seen sustained revival with multitudes coming to know the Lord Jesus. Without exception, every place of visitation has come after God’s people have called out to Him in prayer.

Community Prayer Watch began in 2002 in response to a clear word from the Lord and a promise from scripture from Psalm 84, “As he passes through the valley of Baca (desert), he makes it a place of springs. The autumn rains also cover it with pools.”  From the first prayer meeting held on Harmony Church Road, it was clear that this was not about one person or one denomination – the whole Body of Christ is needed to see the fulfillment.

We thank God for all those who have for years labored so faithfully in prayer for our county- people like Pastor Jimmy Vaught and the Purcellville pastors’ group which has faithfully prayed for the last 20+ years. The increasing unity among churches may well be a result of their faithful prayers!

Since 2003 we have helped to coordinate corporate prayer meetings, all night prayer & youth prayer events, and now the National Day of Prayer and Global Day of Prayer, all in cooperation with local congregations.

We invite you to join us so that together we may see His kingdom come!
